My Favourite Stationery Shop in Toulouse
Tucked around the corner from the main shopping street in Toulouse is TRAIT, a shop that knows its stationery and just as importantly, it knows how to display it. Beautiful stationery temptingly set out for you to browse and linger over.
It is not a big shop but it packs a decent range in, covering all the essentials (notebooks, diaries, pens) along with greeting cards and wrapping paper. It also has enough stationery accessories (presented in jars for the most part, always a good sign) as well as a nice selection of Kanken backpacks.
In terms of the stationery on offer you will find a good selection of notebooks including offerings from Papier Tigre and Rifle, as well as diaries (when I was there) from Leuchtturm and Marks. On the counter there is a nice display of pens in pots to tempt you including Lamy, and the more expensive pens are under glass on a table. You will find wrapping paper, greeting cards and a collection of other assorted stationery like washi tape and pins and clips.
They also have an eclectic collection beyond just stationery, although I have found that prints and stationery is maybe a ‘thing’ in France. In TRAIT there is a good collection of prints as well as unusual lighting and more.
All in all this shop is highly recommended if you are in Toulouse. TRAIT also have another shop in Toulouse focused more on furniture, as well as a shop in Paris.
